Austin, Mary Leman & Quilter's Newsletter Magazine

Mary Leman Austin has been part of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine since its inception in 1969. Her favorite part of the job has always been designing patterns for QNM readers, something she has less opportunity to do these days. Mary managed the art and production needs of the magazine until 1993, when she moved into editing. She was named QNM's Executive Director in 1996 when her mother Bonnie Leman retired.

She has judged quilt shows nationally and internationally, and is a member of the advisory council of the International Quilt Study Center. Her favorite quiltmaking technique is paper-foundation piecing.
